A switch that varies brightness — must match your LED or lamp type.

Notes

Dimmers let you lower light level instead of only on/off. Modern LED lamps need a dimmer that is rated for LEDs, otherwise you get flicker or buzzing.

Confirm lamp + dimmer compatibility before the electrician buys the faceplate.
